Behind the scenes at Sainsbury’s Pink Drinks Press Dinner

The dream brief, from a dream client. We absolutely LOVED working with Sainsbury’s to set the scene for their recent press dinner showcasing their new range of pink drinks for summer.

With a spike in the number of pink alcoholic drinks over the last decade and the growing popularity of rosé, Sainsbury’s invited journalists to an exclusive media dinner to celebrate their range of innovative new beverages.

Working with Hope & Glory PR we put together this gorgeous tablescape at Carousel London where guests sat down to enjoy a three course meal, tasting various new beverages from their new pink drinks range. The drinks led the dinner, with each course paired to a specific beverage whilst Sainsbury’s spoke on insights behind the trend. Guests enjoyed four courses, each offering 1-2 drink options for media to choose from ranging from blush cider and rosé to a new Pimm’s aperitif.

Although pink was the main focus for this set up, finer details included gold accents, coloured glassware and individual personalised gold foiled place cards to give the dinner a luxurious feel and represent the brand’s premium values. Due to COVID restrictions at the time we had to deal with various government guideline changes through the planning process, resulting in hosting the dinner element within Carousel’s outdoor space instead, adding to the summer atmosphere and keeping the experience bright & airy.

As well as bringing the dinner to life, we also created a standout hanging floral cloud installation and multiple display areas to show off the various products which were dressed with additional flowers and product information.

What Hope & Glory PR & Sainsbury’s had to say…

“We worked with Callie on our Sainsbury’s Pink Drinks Dinner, to promote their alcoholic drinks offering in July 2021. Callie was a dream to work with and was on hand from the beginning, responding to emails quickly and efficiently and providing her rationale and opinion throughout the design process. The finished product/design that she created was truly stunning, and it was clear she had thought about every small detail. She hit the nail on the head with the design and delivered on every aspect of the brief. Callie was composed and professional throughout and we had every faith in her that she would bring our vision to life. She was friendly, approachable and had a very calming nature. It was brilliant to collaborate with her on this project and we would highly recommend working with Callie in the future.”
